Today I found myself staring at an about-to-hit-the-bin avocado. Ignored and neglected for over a week, it was sulking in the dark corner of my fruit bowl.  I gave it a gentle squeeze to check for vital signs, and found the insides quite mushy. Not a good sign. The skin was also lacking the glow of a newly-picked fruit, but I was convinced there was still life in it. So with a sharp blade I penetrated the dark capsule, revealing a creamy, perfect green flesh. Amazing! It just goes to show how unpredictable life can be.

Ayurveda means the natural way to balance the laws of nature. When a person is suffering from a disease it is thought that this shows an imbalance in the equilibrium of the human body. The human body is a terrific creation of Divine Power that works relentlessly throughout our life. In a diseased state, the imbalance that gets created could be due to external factors or inner reasons that are generated mainly by overlooking the laws of nature.

A few weeks ago I sent out an eLetter suggesting that many people are shy and reluctant to talk about their interest in spirituality. Many of us seem reticent about talking our walk. This can happen at work and with family and friends. I suggested that this was similar to the feminist, gay and black movements thirty years ago. Its partly about coming out of the closet. I hopped a flight to New York this weekend to shoot a follow-up on Jorge Munoz's story on GoInspireGo.com. Journalism got really personal and emotional. Munoz, a.k.a. Angel in Queens (bus driver responsible for more than 70,000 hot meals to hungry people in his neighborhood) admits, he was surprised when the Go Inspire Go crew, along with a the Spungen family, a generous family from Waukegan, Illinois knocked on this angel's door to surprise him with new appliances. Munoz admits, "I want to cry every night when I go out there to deliver the food. But this guy," (he slaps me on the chest) "He made me cry!" This is TRULY the gift that will keep on giving!

In the foreseeable future, Kaisei, a 150ft tall ship, will make two passes through a gigantic mass of floating plastic garbage in the  North Eastern area of the Pacific Ocean.

The Kaisei is one of many vessels of Project Kaisei that will sail through this mass of garbage in a bid to raise world awareness about the damage that the plastic waste problem is doing to the world.
